According to CCTV News, the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China (PRC) recently sent a task force to Myanmar to enhance law enforcement collaboration.

This joint operation, the first in Yangon and Mandalay, arrested Chen, Yang, and 18 other leaders and core members of a telecom fraud syndicate. All 20 suspects were extradited to China on a chartered civilian flight.

The report outlines that for a long time, individuals such as Chen and Yang were affiliated with the "Four Major Families" of Northern Myanmar's Kokang region and other criminal groups led by figures like Xu Lao-fa. They controlled armed forces, established fraud dens, and targeted Chinese nationals with relentless telecom fraud schemes. They are also suspected of committing severe violent crimes, including intentional homicide and assault, presenting extreme social dangers.

Following a devastating blow to criminal groups like the "Four Major Families," the 20 criminal leaders and key members fled to nearby cities such as Yangon and Mandalay. With the intelligence on these individuals, Chinese and Myanmar authorities meticulously planned and successfully executed a concentrated crackdown, capturing all suspects involved.

The detainees have now been transported back to their respective jurisdictions by local public security bureaus for further investigation and prosecution.
