HSBC considers appointing first female CFO in its history
According to Bloomberg sources, HSBC is considering appointing its first female Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in its 159-year history. The current Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, 60-year-old Pam Kaur, is a leading candidate for the position.
Since Georges Elhedery replaced Noel Paul Quinn as CEO on Sept. 2, the CFO position has remained vacant. Other potential candidates reportedly include Greg Guyett, CEO of Global Banking & Markets; Willard McLane, Group Head of Strategy and Corporate Development; and Kavita Mahtani, CFO of HSBC Bank plc and Western Markets.
Sources indicate that no final decision has been made and other candidates may still enter the race. HSBC representatives have declined to comment.
