HKTA offers half-price movie tickets for National Day
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, the Hong Kong Theatre Association Ltd (HKTA) is hosting the "Movie Fiesta Half Price Spectacular" event.
On Oct. 1, all commercial cinemas across Hong Kong, covering 59 venues, will offer half-price tickets for all movies and formats. Ticket sales start today (Sept. 25) at noon. In addition to enjoying discounted tickets for over 80 films, moviegoers can participate in the "1st October Movie Fiesta: Half-Price Spectacular: Scratch Extravaganza", offering chances to win more than 2,000 amazing gifts, including more than a thousand free movie tickets.
Attendees who purchase tickets for Oct. 1 will receive a scratch card, allowing them to win prizes ranging from free movie tickets and concession stand vouchers to popcorn and soft drinks. The top ten winners will receive 75 movie ticket vouchers each.
Ticketing Rules
All ticket categories, including first show, child, student, and senior tickets, will be available at half price on Oct. 1 (except for private screenings and special programs). Promotions related to membership or bank offers will not apply on that day.
Ticket Purchase Methods
Tickets are available starting Sept. 25 at noon online and at major cinema box offices, with individual purchases capped at four tickets per person. (except for ACXCinema @ North Point Exchange box office opening at 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 2, and the LUX Theatre pre-sale to begin on Sept. 30.)

Participating cinemas include ACX Cinemas @ Harbour North, Broadway Circuit, Chinachem Circuit, Cine-art House Circuit, Cinema City Circuit, CGV D2 Place, Emperor Cinemas Circuit, Golden Harvest Circuit, Golden Scene Cinema, Lumen Cinema, Lux Theatre, MCL Circuit, Newport Circuit, Sunbeam Theatres.
Scratch Extravaganza event detail
Participation: Purchase of tickets for Oct. 1 will be entitled to a scratch card, one scratch card per ticket, and so on.
Scratch Redemption Period: The date and method of scratch redemption are subject to the arrangement of individual theaters, and details will be announced on the websites and pages of participating theaters.

Grand Prize: 75 Free Movie Vouchers (10 Winners)
2nd Prize: 10 Free Movie Vouchers (30 Winners)
3rd Prize: $50 Concession Voucher (200 Winners)
4th Prize: Small popcorn (600 Winners)
5th Prize: $30 Concession Voucher (300 Winners)
6th Prize: One cup/can/bottle of soft drink (1,000 Winners) [subject to the availability of the cinema's beverage options]
* Remark: Prize redemption for the third to sixth prizes does not apply to Lux Theatre and Sunbeam Theatre.
