The Immigration Department forecasts that from Sept. 28 to Oct. 7, around National Day, approximately 10.03 million movements will occur through Hong Kong's sea, land, and air control points, with about 8.54 million crossings expected at land border control stations.

The peak travel days for both departures and arrivals by land are projected to be on Oct. 1, with approximately 523,000 departures and 632,000 arrivals anticipated.

During the holiday, the Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau Spur Line, and Shenzhen Bay control points are expected to be particularly busy, with daily averages of approximately 208,000, 185,000, and 118,000 travelers respectively.

To manage the high volume of travelers, the Immigration Department has reduced staff holidays to flexibly deploy personnel, opened additional counters and lanes to streamline passenger and vehicle flows, and increased security personnel to maintain order at the checkpoints.

A joint command center will be established at the Lo Wu control point in collaboration with the Police Force, Customs and Excise Department, and MTR to ensure smooth crossing.
