Nansha Line of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link to officially open for traffic in October
According to reports from the mainland media Yangcheng Evening News, the Nansha Line of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link will officially open for traffic in October. It will only take 20 minutes to travel from Nansha to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link starts in Bao'an, Shenzhen, crosses the Pearl River Estuary, lands on Ma'an Island in Zhongshan, and connects to Nansha, Guangzhou, via a branch line. The total length of the Link is approximately 24 kilometers.
Since the Link opened on June 30 of this year, the travel time from Shenzhen to Zhongshan has been reduced from 2 hours to just 30 minutes, which further enhances the integrated development level of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link experienced its first small holiday period from Sept. 15 to 17 since its opening. Statistics show that during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the average daily traffic volume on the Link exceeded 105,000 vehicles, and overall traffic order was good. Notably, a small peak in traffic heading from Zhongshan to Shenzhen occurred from 2 p.m. on Sept. 17.
