HKO: Impact of tropical depression over Taiwan Strait on HK relatively low
According to the Hong Kong Observatory, the area of low pressure over the Taiwan Strait has intensified into a tropical depression and is located within 800 kilometers of Hong Kong.
According to the present forecast, the tropical depression will edge closer to the coast of Fujian today and tomorrow, maintaining some distance from Hong Kong. It would also gradually weaken under the influence of the northeast monsoon. Its impact on Hong Kong is relatively low. Under the influence of the northeast monsoon and the broad trough of low pressure over the northern part of the South China Sea, it will be windy with showers and thunderstorms locally today and tomorrow. Temperatures will also fall slightly.
