Henry's Take (special edition) | Advocating for HK's true narrative at UN
Welcome to this special Henry's Take program! In this episode, we focus on the 57th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which opened in Geneva, Switzerland, on September 9. Dr. Henry Ho, a prominent leader of a think tank, took the stage on September 11 and 12 to address claims by some Western media that the Hong Kong National Security Law undermines human rights and freedoms. He presented reasoned arguments and evidence to refute these allegations.
Following the meeting, Dr. Ho was interviewed by DotDotNews, where he described the U.S. Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Certification Act is absurd, stating that it does not accurately reflect the reality in Hong Kong. Drawing from his extensive experience as a policy researcher, he highlighted that he has not observed any restrictions on academic research even after implementing the National Security Law.
Dr. Ho emphasized that it is crucial for people in Hong Kong from various sectors to speak up and share the truth about what is happening in their city with the international community.
