Starting Sept. 25 through Oct. 31, Sha Tin's New Town Plaza will host an exhibition of the "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" constructed from LEGO bricks. The Bank of China Hong Kong (BOC Hong Kong) invites all residents to witness the creation of a new Guinness World Record on Sept. 23.

The exhibit will also feature large-scale LEGO sculptures representing traditional Chinese culture, including "Dragon's Journey", Terracotta Warriors, the national treasure Giant Panda, and the "Panda Twins". Details for public guided tours will be announced later.

The LEGO diorama measures 26 meters in length and 1.78 meters in width, constructed using nearly 3 million LEGO bricks. Planning began early this year with the actual assembly starting in May, meticulously depicting the suburban spring scenery of Bianjing, the waterfront of the Bian River, and the cityscape during the Northern Song Dynasty. The piece originally painted by Zhang Ze-duan is vividly brought to life in three dimensions.

A highlight of the exhibit is the "Bian River Rainbow Bridge", a bridge spanning the river without supports, held together solely by overlapping wooden structures and ropes, showcasing the advanced bridge-building techniques of the time.

Parts of the Bianjing city, including a city gate, a shop, and an inn, were previously displayed in the lobby of the Bank of China Tower, contributing to the bustling city scene recreated at the exhibit.

Dr. Konstance C. LI, an art lecturer from the University of Hong Kong and an expert in Chinese painting history, will lead a special public guided tour titled "A Magnificent Look at 'Along the River During the Qingming Festival'", offering insights into the daily life inside and outside Bianjing and the historical significance of this enduring masterpiece.

BOC Hong Kong announced that its youth brand "Financial TrendyToo", in collaboration with Andy Hung, the only LEGO® Certified Professional in Hong Kong, has gathered more than 1,000 young people, including two "DSE Super Scholars", Chung Pak-lun and Liao Chun-cheung, to put together the "Along the Riverside During the Qingming Festival" into the world's largest LEGO® three-dimensional model.
