Descendants of Wukong? Monkeys climb on exterior walls of building in Yuen Long

Some Hong Kong netizens uploaded a video on Facebook in which monkeys are causing a ruckus in the Yuen Long residential area. In the video, at least four monkeys can be seen climbing on the exterior wall of a building on Hop Yick Road in Yuen Long.

The monkeys are climbing up a water pipe to the rooftop on the sixth floor, with one leading monkey reaching the rooftop first, followed by the others.

Some monkeys are seated on air conditioning units or standing on the railings of balconies, which attracted a crowd of curious onlookers who took out their phones to film the scene.

Many netizens expressed their astonishment:

"I've never seen monkeys in Yuen Long for so many years!"

"The Mount Huaguo (the Mountain of flowers and fruit) is full of monkeys! Wukong (Monkey King) brings his descendants to Yuen Long for a trip!"

"There will be countless monkeys for us to look at if they give birth to more baby monkeys."
