A meet-and-greet session with Siobhán Bernadette Haughey was held at Cityplaza Hong Kong today (Sept. 8).
Siobhán shared her philosophies of swimming and daily life, interacted with the audience, and signed autographs for them. The event attracted hundreds of fans who lined up early in the morning to get autographs and take photos.
She first shared her heartfelt experience of the Paris Olympics and her unforgettable moments. She also brought her Olympic medals to the event.
Though each medal has its meaning, she prefers the design of this year's Paris Olympic medals, which were made from the same materials as that of the Eiffel Tower, making her feel like "bringing Paris home".
She had changed her mindset during these two Olympics. She said that after winning two medals in the Tokyo Olympics, she realized that many people had high expectations for her performance in this year's Olympics. Therefore, she paid great attention to adjusting her mindset, reminding herself to enjoy the moment and not to think too much during the competitions.

She still remembers being very nervous when participating in her first Olympic Games. So, over the years, she has been looking for different ways to relieve her nervousness before competitions. She emphasized that the first thing to do is to have confidence in your previous hard training.
The last Tokyo Olympics was held during the pandemic, so no audience existed. But this year, the atmosphere was more than exciting. She saw many people cheering for her when she appeared on stage, which made a big difference. She regarded it as "everyone celebrating the hard work done in the past three years together".

She told the teenagers, "You must focus on your work no matter your profession. More importantly, you have to be passionate about it to persevere no matter how hard it is."
She hoped that parents would support their children's dreams and encourage them occasionally.
She also mentioned the 14-year-old swimmer of the Hong Kong team in the Paris Paralympics, Ng Cheuk-yan, who achieved outstanding results in a major international arena at the age of 14.

After the sharing session, Siobhán took photos and signed autographs for her fans for five hours. Many people queued up to have a closer look at this fabulous Olympian.
