John Lee hosts luncheon at Government House to commend Hong Kong, China Delegation
The Hong Kong, China Delegation has made historic achievements at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The HKSAR Government and the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) organized a bus parade today (Aug. 21) to enable them to engage with the public.
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, hosted a luncheon at Government House to commend the athletes, coaches and medical team members for their outstanding achievements and efforts.
He said in a post that it is the first time in history that the Delegation has won two gold medals in the same Olympics and won medals in the past two consecutive Olympics. It is so encouraging and makes the Hong Kong people proud of them. The athletes overcame a lot of difficulties during their hard training, and a few of them even suffered from serious injuries. However, they did not give up and demonstrated the spirit of Hong Kong athletes who are indomitable and undaunted by hardship.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the coaches and medical team members for their continuous efforts, which enabled the athletes to compete wholeheartedly on the competition field.
He stressed that we are proud of every one of them, regardless of whether they have achieved medals or not. The Government will continue to support the development of sports in Hong Kong and the realization of the Olympic motto "Faster, Higher, Stronger-Together" by Hong Kong athletes.
