Typhoon Ampil hits Japan, affecting HK Express flights to Tokyo
The No.7 Typhoon Ampil is approaching the Kanto region of Japan today (Aug. 16) and has strengthened into a super typhoon, with the storm circle expected to touch Chiba Prefecture around noon today.
Hong Kong Express said that in response to the super typhoon, a number of flights will be delayed or cancelled, of which four flights scheduled to Narita Airport today, including UO870, UO646, UO650 and UO652, delayed until tomorrow (Aug. 17); four flights scheduled to return to Hong Kong from Narita Airport tomorrow, including UO871, UO647, UO651 and UO653, delayed until this week Sunday (Aug. 18). UO651 and UO653 have been postponed to this Sunday (Aug. 18).
In addition, UO848 and UO849 scheduled to travel between Hong Kong and Narita today have been cancelled. HK Express said affected passengers can reschedule their journeys free of charge or apply for a full refund.
