On July 1, the 27th anniversary of HKSAR's establishment, the Exit-Entry Administration of the People's Republic of China released an announcement that in order to further facilitate exchanges and exchanges of people between the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and to support the better integration of Hong Kong and Macao into the overall situation of the country's development, it will, starting from July 10, 2024, issue permits for travel to and from the Mainland for non-Chinese citizens who are permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao.

Sri Lanka holds traditional grand ceremony to welcome HK environmental experts for exchange

A delegation of 9 Hong Kong environmental experts has traveled to Sri Lanka to participate in the Symposium on Water Technology, Climate Change and Sustainable Development and the 9th China - Sri Lanka Joint Workshop on Climate Change and Marine Sustainable Development. On July 2, The Sri Lankan hosts organized an elaborate welcome ceremony for the Hong Kong and mainland Chinese representatives, featuring traditional dancers in vibrant local attire. 

Dr. Chui Ho-Kwong, Samuel, the Director of the Environmental Protection Department of Hong Kong, expressed his anticipation for the trip, stating "I look forward to this opportunity to share Hong Kong's experiences with our Sri Lankan counterparts." Dr. Chui and the Hong Kong team will engage with professionals and scholars from Sri Lanka and the Chinese Academy of Sciences during the symposium. They will be discussing EPD's latest water quality modeling technologies and experiences, as well as the applications of smart technologies in water quality management.

HK advance team arrives at Sichuan panda base yesterday

The Central Government has agreed to gift another pair of giant pandas to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). According to a report by Ta Kung Pao, the advance team from the HKSAR government arrived at the Dujiangyan base of the Sichuan Giant Panda Protection and Research Center on July 2. Sichuan authorities revealed that both sides will establish a special task force to coordinate the specific arrangements for the panda transfer.

PolyU acquires lunar soil samples from Chang'e-5 mission

The research team at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has successfully acquired lunar soil samples collected in the Chang'e-5 mission from the China National Space Administration, including a 400 mg surface sample and a 42.6 mg deep drill sample. PolyU researchers will explore the presence of water in the lunar soil, which will provide valuable insights for future studies on the formation of soil on the moon and other atmosphereless celestial bodies, as well as the analysis of water resources generated by solar wind implantation.

Futian Port-Zhongshan free special line: Half-hourly bus service provided as bus stops overflow

A free shopping line directly to the Zhongshan Expo Center is opened on July 5 at Futian Port in Shenzhen. The bus stop at Futian Port is crowded, and in order to ease the flow of people and avoid the problem of road congestion, the original hourly bus plan is changed to a half-hourly bus.
