Opinion | Is Biden a downgraded politician?

By Augustus K. Yeung

Wen Tian-Xiang, the last Prime Minister of the Song Dynasty, undisputedly recognized as the "soul of China" once said, "In times of great adversity, the caliber of a person as a politician, or a statesman will become clear (meaning how he has honestly, courageously and consistently responded to crisis situations,) resulting in his name being recorded in the annals of national history."

The time to visual U.S. President Joe Biden's true character is now emerging as the mounting challenge from his archrival Donald Trump, the former U.S. president is becoming imminently threatening. The threat is real and is multiplying.

Worst of all, the U.S, Supreme Court's recent ruling that Donald Trump is exonerated from the legal charges of inciting riots at the Capitol Hill is a blow to Biden and democracy in America.

In this coming presidential election, the winner will take all while the loser stands to lose everything.

If Biden loses the election, imagine what nightmare can happen to his son Hunter Biden, who is within reach of Donald Trump's claws and paws and sets of sharp teeth.

For Donald Trump, if he loses, he might very well be thrown into a Federal Prison, although he might get a presidential pardon as President Joe Biden is a person who has shown tendency of appeasement as part of his compromising character.

Incidentally, this may be the only way to bring an impending American civil war to an end, or Trump's red-necked followers might fight to the bitter end.

But, Biden will not sit tight to see the curtain falls in such a tragic way: he is likely to further stir up the maritime conflicts between China and the Philippines – to raise it to the boiling point, and reap political benefits by counting on the general Americans outpouring of patriotism, and cashing in on the nation's long "well-nurtured" hatred for China, for practicing "autocracy" that runs counter to that of the United States.

Lately, unusual signs have been showing: the disputes between the Philippines and China in the South China Sea have reached unprecedented levels of risk and unparalleled  counts of frequency. So vivid and intensified are the conflicts that they have never been seen before in the anti-U.S. Duterte administration.

Now, the U.S. is not just out to prop up Marcos, Jnr., the Biden administration is also actively nurturing one, and pitching it against another. Duterte's days for his daughter to be the next Philippine president are numbered, according to Biden's playbook.

This was the playbook that Washington used in the early days of the Vietnam War, which started as an infighting between two rival powers in Saigon, Vietnam. This is and has always been the American CIA's trademark of making trouble in Asia and beyond.

What is more, a world-wide propaganda, politicizing trumped up "issues" and portraying China as the aggressor – victimizing the Philippines is taking place. Under the dictate of the Biden administration, strangely Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson last month slammed Chinese incursions into disputed waters as undermining regional stability and threatening global security; the Japanese Prime Minister; and even the Ukrainian President are joining the band of music to sing the American orchestrated silly song of "Ukraine today, Taiwan tomorrow…"

"Deep hazards for China as disputes go global" was the title of a SCMP newspaper report…

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kashida has repeatedly talked about "Ukraine today, Taiwan tomorrow" when offering military aid to the Philippines and other like-minded countries in the region, in remarks denounced by the Chinese state media as "dangerous narrative."

Earlier that same week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a surprise visit to Manila and said he saw "a low of similar things and challenges" between Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine and the South China Sea dispute. "If Russia will occupy us totally in this war, we will see this war in other continents. It could be in your direction, in your region. It's a big tragedy." Zelensky told the Philippines". According to GMA. (Source: SCMP)

In the past, I have read many SCMP newspaper articles, but I have never seen one so one-sidedly reporting opinions from the pro-U.S. side. And I am depressed and disappointed to see that an "issue" that is happening in the Asia-Pacific region is being twisted in such a way. I wonder why?

In the first place, Marcos was supposed to team up with the daughter of Duterte who ran as his presidential running mate, but he's now betraying the "Asian road ahead" set as before. The invisible hand of Washington cannot be denied.

The sudden move of Japanese PM Fumio Kashida is also mind-boggling, although it is clear that Japan after Hiroshima has lost its soul and spirit as an independent nation. It is and will remain to be a destined U.S. pawn until liberation…

But for Zelensky to come to Manila, and stir up the pot in Asia is apparently and act masterminded by the Biden administration – as a last ditch to take the side of the United States, which must be at the end of its wits having to turn to a drowning man, expecting him to take sides with Joe Biden who is possibly the only politician who would be willing to support Zelensky's war efforts against an apparently infallible Russia.

Without fear and favor, I must say that the preferable President Biden is now himself a drowning man – trying desperately to hang on to the power of the U.S. presidency – with the sole purpose of defeating Donald Trump, his archrival who is giving it all to take back the White House and be victorious.
