A 22-year-old man lost his left foot after trying to ride between two carriages of a Prague metro train at Karlovo námestí station, municipal police said.
Police released CCTV footage of the Oct. 27 accident on Nov. 2, warning against travelling on the coupling between cars. The video shows him jumping between the moving carriages and falling onto the tracks; he climbed back onto the platform after the train left.
Officers on a night patrol found him bleeding on the platform, his foot severed below the ankle, and applied pressure to stem the bleeding until paramedics took him to Královské Vinohrady University Hospital.
"Reckless behaviour on public transport poses a direct threat to life and health," police said.
