Alberto Rocca, Director of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, said he witnessed Hongkongers' strong interest in art during the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition at City University of Hong Kong, noting that some museum directors told him 57% of visitors in certain museums are young people — a sign Hong Kong is "building the future."
Luke Syson, Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge, praised how art is closer to everyday life in Hong Kong than elsewhere, with contemporary works encountered even in shopping malls.
Matthias Bottger, Professor at FHNW Academy of Art and Design, was fascinated by Hong Kong's mix of "tropical island and hyper mega city."
