Multiple brands, including Dongpeng Beverage and Mengniu Dairy, announced on Tuesday (Oct. 27) the immediate termination of all cooperation with French football star Kylian Mbappe.
Dongpeng Beverage issued a statement on its official Weibo account on Tuesday morning, stating: "Our company resolutely opposes and maintains zero tolerance for actions that hurt national sentiments. Effective immediately, we are terminating all cooperation with Mbappe. We express our gratitude for the attention from consumers and media friends." The official account of "Bushuila", an electrolyte water brand under Dongpeng Beverage, simultaneously published the same statement.
Mengniu Dairy also released a statement, stating: "Effective immediately, our company terminates all cooperation with Mbappe. Mengniu resolutely resists and maintains zero tolerance for any words or actions that hurt the feelings of the Chinese people."
