InnoCarnival 2026 opened on Saturday (Oct. 24) at the Hong Kong Science Park under the theme "Lead with I&T Dream to Fly High", featuring a wide range of exhibits highlighting local innovation and technology (I&T) achievements.
Organized by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, the nine-day carnival includes an aerospace thematic zone showcasing research projects from local universities and their contributions to the country's space exploration missions.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po said Hong Kong's strengths in frontier research, comprehensive financial services and world-class international talent provide a complete pathway for turning ideas into industries.
Chan also noted that Hong Kong's first five-year plan, announced last month, positions the Northern Metropolis as a hub for I&T industries. The plan aims to promote integrated development across education, technology, talent and industry, aligning university talent cultivation and research with industry needs.
Free and open to the public, InnoCarnival 2026 offers exhibitions, interactive games, about 150 workshops, and more than 10 webinars covering topics such as aerospace technology and artificial intelligence.
