Apple's highly anticipated first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, is set to officially go on sale in Hong Kong and Macau this Friday (Oct. 23), with an official starting price of HK$17,499. As the countdown to the iPhone Duo's official launch begins, a queue of over a hundred people has formed at the Apple Store in Macau, creating a bustling scene. A netizen posted on Threads that the store had already distributed all wristbands yesterday (Oct. 20), with some people queuing overnight, determined to stand in line for three days to be among the first to get their hands on the new device.
It is understood that because Macau does not have an in-store pickup pre-order mechanism for the iPhone Duo, the device will be sold on a walk-in basis at stores from 8 am on Oct. 23, sparking a queueing frenzy among scalpers and Apple fans alike. A Xiaohongshu user shared the queueing scene, with lines forming outside both the Londoner store and the Galaxy store, stretching from outside the stores all the way to the mall lobby, with metal barriers set up to maintain order. It is reported that the stores distributed 250 wristbands three days in advance, and those who received one must remain on-site, with each person limited to purchasing two units.
