Hong Kong saw its coolest morning since the start of autumn on Tuesday, October 6, as the Hong Kong Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 23.3°C by 7:30 am.
A dry northeast monsoon is affecting Guangdong and is expected to bring generally fine weather to the coast over the coming days, with stronger winds and slightly cooler mornings, the Observatory said.
For Monday, forecasters said the weather would be mainly cloudy and dry, with the temperature hovering around 23°C in the morning and rising to about 29°C during the day, alongside a minimum relative humidity of around 50%. Moderate to fresh northerly to northeasterly winds are expected, with occasional strong winds on high ground early in the day.
Looking ahead, the Observatory expects morning temperatures to stay cool over the next day or two. Conditions are forecast to stay sunny and dry from later this week into early next week, with temperatures gradually climbing. Forecasters also noted that inland areas may see larger day–night temperature swings.
The Observatory's extended outlook indicates Tuesday (October 7) and Thursday (October 8) should be generally fine and dry, with Tuesday's morning low still around 23°C. Thursday coincides with "Cold Dew," one of the 24 solar terms, and temperatures are expected to range between 25°C and 30°C, with the day remaining relatively dry.
