The "Salute to the National Flag" Hong Kong and Macao Youth Flag-Raising Teams' Beijing Visit Delegation was received by Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, Mr Ding Xuexiang, at the Great Hall of the People on Sep. 21.
Lau Chi-pang, member of the 14th CPPCC National Committee and the Legislative Council, stated that raising the five-star red flag is not just a ceremony, but also allows young people to see the path the country has taken from reform and opening up to achieving a moderately prosperous society, and to see the connection between Hong Kong's destiny and that of the nation. He further encouraged parents and teachers to discuss national development and Hong Kong's relationship after they return to Hong Kong, cultivating patriotism and love for Hong Kong.
