The inaugural "National Treasures Global Vision" Art Contest and Cultural Exchange Program, hosted by the Shine Tak Foundation, concluded its award ceremony and welcome luncheon on Aug. 24 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Centered on the theme of "National Treasures"—with the first edition focusing on animals—the program encouraged young people to interpret their cultural heritage through art while learning about other civilizations. Young artists from around the world gathered in Hong Kong to express their vision of "national treasures" through their art—celebrating cultural diversity and building bridges of cross-cultural understanding.
For many of these young participants, it was their first time in Hong Kong—and the city made an indelible mark. "It's really cool. The buildings are so tall, and everything feels so well put together," one student shared. But beyond the striking skyline and bustling streets, what truly stood out was the chance to connect. Through their paintings, these young artists discovered a language without borders—a shared space where differences fade and creativity speaks. They exchanged ideas, learned about each other's traditions, and forged friendships that will outlast this journey.
For the Hong Kong Shine Tak Foundation, this is the heart of the initiative: using art as a bridge to nurture globally minded young people—helping them see, respect, and celebrate a wonderfully diverse world, yet beautifully connected. The exhibition will remain on display at the airport, allowing travelers from around the world to witness the creativity and cultural richness of these young minds, long after the launch ceremony has ended.
