Hong Kong's upcoming Policy Address is expected to unveil a new internship scheme offering young people opportunities to work with United Nations agencies, according to sources.
The new Policy Address will be delivered on Sept. 16. The government is expected to introduce a series of measures to create diverse platforms for youth exchange and practical experience, and broaden young people's horizons.
Among the measures will be an internship programme for youth, which will provide HK young people with internship opportunities at different organizations under the United Nations, according to sources.
The sources said the programme would allow young talent from HK to gain exposure to the international stage, international issues, cross-border collaboration and the operation of multilateral mechanisms.
The internship programme will also incorporate elements such as leadership development and international affairs, helping young people better equip themselves to meet future challenges, the sources said.
