Chinese DRAM maker ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) filed a lawsuit against the US Defense Department on Aug 28, challenging its inclusion on the "Chinese military companies."

The company calls the designation arbitrary, unsupported, and a violation of due process, and asks the court to remove it. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is also named as a defendant.

CXMT insists its chips are for civilian, not military use. CXMT says its reputation and business have suffered since the January 2025 blacklisting, prompting the legal action.
