Apple is set to hold its fall product launch event on Sept. 9, US time, or the early hours of Sept. 10 Beijing time, with newly appointed CEO John Ternus expected to make his debut alongside the company's first foldable iPhone.

The device, which may be named the iPhone Ultra, could offer the practicality of an iPad mini, transforming into a tablet-like device when unfolded while remaining compact enough to fit into a pocket when folded.

Based on reports and forecasts from multiple sources, the iPhone Ultra is expected to become the most expensive iPhone in Apple's history, with production reportedly reaching the tens of millions of units.

The 256GB version of the iPhone Ultra could start at around US$1,999. IDC analysts estimate that the phone's average selling price could reach US$2,500, equivalent to about RMB 17,000, while higher-storage versions could cost as much as US$3,000, or around RMB 20,000.
