Today marks Qixi Festival, a traditional Chinese festival also known as "Chinese Valentine's Day."
Recently, a photographer captured a romantic moment in which the Perseid meteor shower streaked across the night sky over Shapotou in Zhongwei, northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Located on the southern edge of the Tengger Desert, Zhongwei offers a unique experience where you can step outside with the desert right at your doorstep or gaze at the starry sky from the comfort of your bed. With its spectacular night skies, the city has become a hot new tourist landmark for Ningxia, earning the nickname "Homeland of the Stars" and attracting visitors eager to gaze up at the Milky Way from the desert.
