Brazilian star Neymar has once again made his position clear, confirming that he will no longer play for the Brazil national team.

The 34-year-old spoke to reporters after Santos' 4-2 victory over Venezuela's Universidad Central in the Copa Sudamericana, saying: "I feel that my time with the national team has passed. I made history there, and I'm very happy about that. I've been through a lot, given my blood and soul, and always fought for the yellow shirt. But I think I don't want to continue anymore."

These comments reaffirm what he had said earlier in the World Cup. On July 5, Brazil were eliminated in the Round of 16 after a 1-2 defeat to Norway, marking their earliest exit since 1990. Neymar came on as a substitute that day and scored a penalty in stoppage time. After the match, he said emotionally: "I tried — I really tried. Now it's all over."

Neymar is Brazil's all-time top scorer, with 80 goals and 58 assists in 130 appearances across four World Cups. At club level, he has played for Santos, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain. His only major trophy with the national team came in 2013, when Brazil won the Confederations Cup.
