The 36th Hong Kong Book Fair is being held from July 15 to 21 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. Under the theme "Reading the World: Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys", this year's fair brings together over 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions, featuring more than 200 books and exhibits from around the world in collaboration with consulates general in Hong Kong.
At the fair, DotDotNews spoke with consular representatives from Vietnam, Spain, and Bangladesh. The Vietnamese Consulate returned this year to showcase the country's landscapes, culture, and cuisine through its books; the Spanish Consulate set up a dedicated space representing Spain, welcoming visitors to come and practice Spanish; and the Bangladeshi Consulate, having attended last year, returned for a second time.
All three representatives agreed that the Hong Kong Book Fair serves as an exceptional cultural bridge. They believe that Hong Kong, as an international metropolis, connects both with the mainland and visitors from around the world, making it a super hub that connects thinkers from different parts of the globe. Let's hear what they have to say.
