The top 12 finalists of the Miss Hong Kong 2026 pageant conducted an outdoor location shoot in Conghua, Guangdong, on 12 July, filming in and around rice fields in Mibu Village.
Dressed in fresh "pastoral/countryside" looks, the contestants posed by the paddies and also rode a small train through the rural landscape. Contestant Jasmine joked that the styling matched the scenery so well that even while giving interviews she was eager to step back into the fields to take more photos.
Despite the heat following an earlier midday shoot at a racetrack under intense sun, contestant Scarlett said the afternoon session was relatively manageable because it focused mainly on still photography, with less movement required. Jasmine also teased that Scarlett had applied "17 layers" of sunscreen in preparation.
A highlight of the shoot came when senior pageant alumna and TV host Mayanne Mak made a surprise appearance. Scarlett said she had many questions for Mayanne, especially about how to answer questions with tact and emotional intelligence. Jasmine described Mayanne as consistently high-energy and quick-witted and said she hoped to learn from her.
Mayanne Mak said she attended as a "surprise training" mentor to exchange ideas with the finalists and help identify their strengths and blind spots, adding that she would not only offer encouragement but also help them. Asked how to stand out, she stressed that contestants should show their most authentic selves so audiences can remember what makes them distinctive. She encouraged the group to take advantage of the filming time to show their best—and most genuine—side.
