Hong Kong produces at least 63 IB perfect scorers, ESF accounts for 27

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results were released today (July 6). Based on results announced by schools throughout the morning, Hong Kong has recorded at least 63 candidates achieving the perfect score of 45 points.

The English Schools Foundation (ESF) reported 27 perfect scorers across its secondary schools. ESF had 1,024 IBDP candidates in total, with 43 students scoring 44 points. A total of 323 students achieved 40 points or above, representing 31.5% of its candidates. ESF's average score was 36.4, which was reported to be 5.9 points higher than the 2025 global average, and its pass rate reached 98.3%.

Among other schools, Victoria Shanghai Academy (VSA) produced 9 perfect scorers—its best result on record—and 8 students with 44 points. All VSA candidates passed, with an average score of 39, and nearly half scored 40 points or above.

Diocesan Boys' School (DBS) recorded 5 perfect scorers and 16 students scoring 44 points. St. Paul's Co-educational College reported 6 perfect scorers (two boys and four girls). St. Stephen's College saw 5 perfect scorers, its highest number to date. The Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) produced 3 perfect scorers, while the Singapore International School (Hong Kong) recorded 1.

Po Leung Kuk (PLK) schools reported 7 perfect scorers in total, including 6 from Carmel Alison Lam Foundation Secondary School (CAIS) and 1 from Ngan Po Ling College. The two schools also recorded 10 and 11 students scoring 44 and 43 points respectively, with more than 56 candidates achieving 40 points or above overall.
