The match was delayed by one hour due to severe weather conditions. Jude Bellingham scored twice within three minutes in the first half, giving England a 2-1 lead at the break. In the second half, Quansah was shown a red card, leaving England with 10 men. Around the 60th minute, Harry Kane converted a penalty to extend the lead, but nine minutes later, he was judged to have fouled a Mexican player in the box after a VAR review, and Mexico were awarded a penalty which they scored to pull one back. In the end, England held on to win 3-2 and will face Norway in the next round.
