Today, July 1, marks the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland. Chief Executive John Lee and senior officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government attended a flag-raising ceremony and a celebratory reception to mark the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.
The flag-raising ceremony was held at 8 a.m. at Golden Bauhinia Square outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai.
Following the ceremony, the HKSAR government hosted a celebratory reception at the Grand Hall of the HKCEC, with John Lee officiating at the event.
