Authorities in Beijing's Chaoyang District released an official statement today (June 27) regarding an aircraft accident that occurred the previous day.
According to the statement, at 5:55 p.m. on June 26, a two-seat light sport aircraft collided with a high-rise building while in flight near the East Third Ring Road in Beijing's Chaoyang District.
The aircraft was carrying only the pilot, who was killed in the crash.
A total of 13 people at the scene were injured and are receiving medical treatment.
Authorities said every effort is being made to treat the injured.
The relevant authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident.
