The Chinese Embassy in Venezuela said that, as of 5:00 p.m. local time on June 26, seven Chinese nationals had been confirmed dead in the June 24 earthquake, according to incomplete statistics.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Jorge Rodriguez, president of Venezuela's National Assembly, said on June 26 that the death toll from the powerful earthquake that struck the country on June 24 had risen to 920.
A total of 172 people remain trapped beneath collapsed structures, while 3,007 people have been displaced by the disaster.
The earthquake damaged 383 buildings, including 13 hospitals and 25 commercial centers. In addition, 1,002 infrastructure facilities sustained varying degrees of damage.
