South Korean disaster action blockbuster "Colony" has received widespread acclaim from moviegoers around the world and has posted solid box-office results in Hong Kong since its official release on May 28.
The film's lead actress Jun Ji-hyun will travel to HK on June 29 for a special thank-you screening event.
Distributor Edko Films announced on social media today (June 19) that arrangements for the thank-you screening, originally scheduled to go on pre-sale at noon, have been adjusted. Moviegoers are advised to stay tuned for further announcements.
Some attentive fans noticed on the Broadway Circuit mobile application that the special screening is expected to be held at the PALACE ifc cinema. Official details will be subject to announcements made through Edko Films' social media platforms.
"Colony" is directed by Yeon Sang-ho, best known for the zombie thriller "Train to Busan". The film features an ensemble cast including Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook and Shin Hyun-been.
The production also marks Jun Ji-hyun's return to the big screen after an 11-year absence. She takes on action sequences rarely seen in her previous work, earning widespread praise from audiences.
"Colony" was selected for the Midnight Screening section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, further cementing its status as a landmark production in Korean cinema.
