Heavy rain continues in many parts of Guangdong province. Some residents have been trapped by flooding. As of last night, more than 13,000 people have been evacuated. In Huilai County, Jieyang, Guangdong, where severe waterlogging has occurred due to the downpours, rescue personnel deployed inflatable boats to save 56 residents who were trapped. The local authorities have activated a Level-1 emergency response for flood control, and the red rainstorm warning signal remains in effect. Many parts of Shantou have also been hit by heavy rain. The local authorities issued this year's first orange flood warning and launched a Level-3 emergency response for flood control. In Shanwei, the maximum rainfall reached 148 millimeters. Floodwater was up to the knees on the streets, and some vehicles stalled. Meteorological authorities expect the heavy rain to continue until June 16.
