Six workers were briefly stranded on suspended working platforms outside a high-rise residential building in Hong Kong's Western District today (June 6) after strong winds struck during an Amber Rainstorm Warning.
The Hong Kong Observatory issued the Amber Rainstorm Warning earlier in the day, urging residents to take precautions against adverse weather conditions.
The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. at Tower 6 of The Belcher's, a private residential complex in Western District. Six workers were carrying out exterior wall maintenance on three suspended platforms near the 40th floor when weather conditions suddenly deteriorated and strong winds swept through the area.
The workers became temporarily trapped in mid-air and called police for assistance.
The suspended platforms were eventually lowered safely to the ground. No injuries were reported.
