Recently, a real-life version of the South Korean film "Parasite" played out in Arkansas, USA. A university professor's home had been experiencing a series of strange occurrences. Upon a thorough search, the family discovered a 41-year-old stranger living in a closet in the basement. The man has since been arrested and now faces charges of residential burglary and theft of property.
According to foreign media reports, Professor Dutch Hoggatt of Arkansas discovered a series of strange incidents that had recently occurred in his home, including chairs being moved for no reason, work shoes going missing, and food being eaten without permission. On April 29, Professor Hoggatt informed his daughter and son-in-law about the matter, and they went together to inspect the basement. Later, while searching the basement, Professor Hoggatt's wife discovered a person hiding inside a closet in the storage area.
After discovering the anomaly, Professor Hoggatt's son in law alone approached with a baseball bat, knocked on the door frame, and yelled at the person to come out. Subsequently, the stranger emerged from the closet in response. His body was covered with scars that he claimed were caused by barbed wire. Eventually, the stranger was arrested by the police. Before his arrest, the man apologized to the professor's family. According to the stranger's account, he had been affected by the severe weather in the area and went to Professor Hoggatt's home for shelter. Furthermore, Professor Hoggatt also clarified that the stranger had not committed any assault nor stolen any valuables.
According to the report, the 41-year-old suspect is named Preston Landis. On April 27, Preston Landis slept in the crawl space of Professor Hoggatt's home. The next day, while the Hoggatts were out, Preston Landis took the opportunity to sneak into the unlocked basement and set up a makeshift bed under the stairs deep inside the storage closet.
