According to NHK, on May 25, Seven & i Holdings, the parent company of Japanese convenience store giant 7-Eleven, issued an obituary announcing that former Chairman and CEO Toshifumi Suzuki passed away on May 18 due to heart failure at the age of 93. He transformed the development model of Japan's traditional retail industry and was hailed as the father of Japan's convenience stores.
