Hong Kong Police Force received a report at 6:17 a.m. today (May 23) that a Cathay Pacific passenger aircraft arriving in Hong Kong had likely encountered turbulence during the flight, resulting in injuries to eight passengers and crew members.
According to on-site information, multiple ambulances were on standby at Hong Kong International Airport. After the aircraft landed safely, paramedics assessed the injuries of the affected individuals and sent them to hospitals in batches.
It is understood that the aircraft involved was Cathay Pacific flight CX156, flying from Brisbane, Australia, to Hong Kong. In response to media inquiries, Cathay Pacific stated that after the flight arrived in Hong Kong at 6:45 a.m., medical personnel immediately boarded the plane to assess the physical condition of a small number of passengers and crew members who felt unwell and provided appropriate treatment.
