During the morning rush hour on May 18 local time, a train on Japan’s Tokyu Ikegami Line was stopped at Hatanodai Station in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, when a charger inside a passenger’s bag suddenly caught fire. A woman in the car sustained minor injuries, and the incident caused a 40-minute service disruption. After the incident occurred, passengers and crew members on the train helped extinguish the fire.
