Regarding the recent public remarks by certain anti-China politicians in the US who falsely claimed they would conduct so-called "representations" on the Jimmy Lai case, it must be made clear that certain US politicians, disregarding basic facts and legal procedures, have repeatedly hyped up this case. Their true intent is to undermine the stability and rule of law in Hong Kong, China. Such conduct seriously violates the fundamental norms of international law on non-interference in internal affairs.
The Jimmy Lai case is based on clear facts and followed proper procedures. Any unwarranted accusations from external forces constitute a gross interference in judicial sovereignty. Hong Kong is a society governed by the rule of law, where laws must be obeyed, and violators must be brought to justice. The trial process of the Jimmy Lai case has been open, transparent, procedurally sound, and fair. Any conspiracy to undermine "one country, two systems" by hyping up individual cases will not succeed.
