According to a report by AFP on April 23, a giant banner was hung in the center of the Iranian capital Tehran, proclaiming "permanent control" over the Strait of Hormuz.

In the image, a hand with a sleeve decorated with the Iranian flag pattern tightly grips a blue ribbon. One end of the ribbon is densely packed with ships, while the other end is completely empty. The banner reads in Persian, "No matter what Trump says, the Strait of Hormuz will always be controlled by Iran."

According to a report by Iran's Tasnim News Agency on the same day, Hamidreza Hajibabaei, Vice Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran, stated that Iran has received the first toll payment for passage through the Strait of Hormuz and has deposited it into the central bank's account.

This is not the first time Iran has made its stance clear using street banners. At the end of January this year, amid ongoing US threats of war against Iran, a giant banner appeared on the streets of Tehran warning the US that it would suffer the consequences if it attacked Iran. The image prominently featured a heavily damaged US aircraft carrier, accompanied by striking text in Persian and English, "Those who fan the flames will be caught in the storm."
