According to CCTV News, as of local time on April 22, a large-scale wildfire broke out in Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. So far, the blaze has caused 7 buildings to be burned down, including residential homes, and about 2,000 residents have been ordered to evacuate.
As of now, the fire has not yet been fully brought under control, and the cause of the outbreak is still under investigation.
Online videos show that a huge blaze erupted in the forested area. From a distance, the fire lit up the sky in a blood-red glow, with thick smoke shooting straight up into the air, at one point even threatening nearby buildings.
