Residents of the seven fire-damaged buildings in Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, began returning to their units in batches on April 20 to collect their belongings. Today (April 23) was the first day of the second round of collection, with five floors of Wang Cheong House and ten floors of Wang Yan House open for residents to return.
As observed by reporters from DotDotNews on site, staff and police officers maintained order, and residents returned in an orderly manner with suitcases and large bags. Furthermore, Social Welfare Department staff were seen helping elderly residents with mobility issues, such as those using canes, upstairs.
