From Chongqing to Paris: a 13-year-old Chinese boy who danced to glory

Li Yongqiu, a 13-year-old Chinese boy, claimed gold in Junior Dance Tour at the Juste Debout 2026 World Finals in Paris, France on March 8, 2026, making history.

It is a famous street dance event and brings together the best dancers from around the world. During the finals, Li performed a special routine. He combined breakdancing moves with Kung Fu. It made a deep impression on both the spectators and judges.

Li started learning breaking when he was 8 years old. He joined the Chongqing breaking team in 2022. The team helps young dancers like him grow and compete at a high level. Li trains hard five to six days a week. Even with all that training, he still finds time to keep up with school. His hard work and strong spirit helped him become a champion.
