US President Donald Trump, who days ago posted an AI-generated image depicting himself as a messianic figure and later deleted it amid widespread criticism, shared another AI-generated image on Wednesday showing Jesus embracing him.
Trump had posted an AI-generated image on April 12 on his Truth Social platform, showing him dressed in a long white robe and red shawl, resembling Jesus Christ, with beams of light emanating from his hands as he healed a patient, surrounded by patriotic symbols including the American flag, the Statue of Liberty, and eagles. The post sparked outrage among Christians and figures across the political spectrum, and even drew fierce criticism from his core supporters within the MAGA camp. Trump deleted the post on April 13.
Days later, Trump reposted on Truth Social an AI-generated image, showing Jesus with one arm around Trump's shoulder and the other hand on his chest. Both figures lean their heads together with their eyes closed against a backdrop of a halo and the American flag.
Trump wrote in the post: "The Radical Left Lunatics might not like this, but I think it is quite nice!!!"
