Today marks the 11th "National Security Education Day." Wen Wei Po learned from the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of Political and Legal Affairs that the Guangdong Provincial Department of National Security, the Provincial Department of Education, and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism have jointly launched a national security-themed study tour activity. Four national security study tour routes radiating from the Guangdong Provincial National Security Education Centre to major cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area have been unveiled. These include routes linking historical sites such as "The Rescue Operations in Hong Kong," creating an integrated "publicity + education + cultural tourism" study tour model that has sparked a wave of national security-themed study tours across the Bay Area.

The national security-themed study tour activity is centred at the Guangdong Provincial National Security Education Centre, with simultaneous sub-venues in Shenzhen, Shantou, Meizhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhanjiang, Zhaoqing, Chaozhou, and other cities. It has attracted local residents who have made it an important part of their national security education curriculum, forming groups to visit the sites. Many Hong Kong and Macao residents, as well as children of overseas Chinese, have also participated, jointly building a "Great Wall" of national security in the Bay Area. At the Guangdong Provincial National Security Education Centre booths, cases of everyday espionage and leaks were presented. Meanwhile, booths themed on the history of the covert front transformed historical stories into various interactive checkpoint games, attracting large numbers of students to participate and offering young people a unique national security study tour experience.

Xiao Hu, a student from Guangzhou Nansha Minxin Hong Kong School, visited the Guangdong Provincial National Security Education Centre for the first time. She showed great interest in the national security-themed interactive games set up at the venue and was deeply moved by the patriotic poetry recitations held during the event. "They really touched me," she said. Xiao Ye, a student from Huizhou City College of Huizhou, visited Donghu Hostel, which served as a key transit point during "The Rescue Operations in Hong Kong" in the War of Resistance Against Japan. She said, "National security is not an abstract concept. It is the cultural root that our forebears protected, the guarantee for us to study and live in peace, and a responsibility that our generation must shoulder."

Connecting Eight National Security Education Bases in Guangdong

This national security-themed study tour connects eight national security education bases in Guangdong Province, forming four themed study routes. Among them, the Guangdong Provincial National Security Education Museum is the first comprehensive national security education base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, showcasing the theoretical and practical achievements of national security work in the new era. The routes include the Shantou Central Station Site Exhibition Hall of the Central Red Transportation Line, the Di'e Tower in Meizhou, and the Jiaotong Hotel in Chaozhou, recreating the "red bloodline" hailed as an unbreakable link between the Party Central Committee and the Soviet areas during the Land Revolution War.

"The Rescue Operations in Hong Kong" recreates the thrilling journey of "the greatest rescue operation" during the Anti-Japanese War, based at the Donghu Hotel in Huizhou. The former residence of Yang Yin in Zhongshan highlights the revolutionary deeds of martyr Yang Yin, one of the important early leaders of the Communist Party of China; the former residence of Gong Changrong in Jiangmen tells the legendary story of Gong Changrong, the captain of the Central Special Branch's "Red Team," who sacrificed his life for the revolution.

The organizers of the study tour stated that through a dialogue between "history and modernity," visitors can appreciate the unique "mysterious, magical, and sacred" aspects of the covert front in the historical narrative and modern development of Guangdong's covert front, thereby enhancing the understanding and awareness of all sectors of society regarding the history of the covert front and national security work.
