Following two US-Israeli airstrikes on the B1 Bridge in Karaj, Iran, Iranian media on April 2 listed potential targets for counterstrikes across the Middle East, according to Xinhua News Agency.
The Beik Bridge, a landmark engineering marvel in Karaj and reputedly the tallest bridge in the Middle East, was damaged in two airstrikes by the US and Israel on April 2. The attacks killed eight civilians and injured 95 others. The affected road section has been completely closed.
Iran's Fars News Agency reported that transportation networks in the region represent a "vulnerability" for the US and Israel, and Iran may launch counterstrikes against them.
The report listed several key railway and highway routes used by the US and Israel to transport heavy military equipment, fuel, and ammunition. These include Israel's Yarqon Bridge and Yizre'el Tunnel, as well as land corridors passing through the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. The report also named several strategic transport hubs, including Haifa Port, Rehovot Station, and multiple highways connecting Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa.
According to the report, destroying any of these locations "would be enough to reduce the enemy's military response capability to a minimum."
US President Donald Trump posted a video on social media on April 2, claiming that the airstrikes had destroyed Iran's "largest bridge" and pressuring Iran to "reach an agreement" with the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded that the destruction of civilian infrastructure will not force Iran to surrender.
