Police received a report from a passerby this morning (March 23), stating that a suspected bomb was discovered while hiking at Por Lo Shan in Tuen Mun. Officers arrived at the scene and found a British mortar shell from World War II. Personnel from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau (EOD) safely disposed of the shell on site.
It is understood that the mortar shell was too severely damaged to confirm its model. No one was injured in the incident, and no evacuation was required.
